Who we are

The Vintage is a land lease community at 1941 Eaton Place, Westbank, BC, developed by Retire West Communities Ltd. (“Retire West,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information through vintageliving.ca, our sales centre, our emails and our advertising.

We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We only collect what we need, we tell you why, and we don’t sell your information.

What we collect and why

  • Name, email, phone number and any message you send when you register, book a tour or contact us. We use this to answer you, arrange tours and send the information you asked for.
  • Your email address when you sign up for Vintage News. We use this to send updates, new home releases and event invitations.
  • Purchase details (contact information, chosen home, deposit and contract information) when you buy a home. We use this to prepare and complete your purchase and lease.
  • Website usage (pages viewed, device, browser, approximate location) when you visit vintageliving.ca. We use this to understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • Ad interactions when you see or click our ads on Google, Facebook or Instagram. We use this to measure which ads work and to show relevant ads to people who visited our site.

We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 19.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with people and companies that help us serve you:

  • Our sales team and Freeport Industries Ltd., the builder of Vintage homes, to answer your questions and build your home.
  • Service providers that run our website, email and advertising, including our web host, Google, Meta and our email newsletter provider. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
  • Lawyers, lenders and other professionals involved in your purchase, when you ask us to.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

We never sell or rent your personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies, small files stored in your browser, to work properly and to measure visits.

  • Google Analytics shows us how people use the site, such as which pages they view. It doesn’t give us your name or contact details. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.
  • Advertising tools from Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) tell us when someone who saw or clicked our ad visits the site or contacts us. They may also be used to show our ads to people who have visited vintageliving.ca. You can manage this in your Google ad settings and Facebook ad preferences.
  • Lead forms on Facebook or Instagram: if you submit a form inside one of our ads, Meta shares the details you entered with us so we can contact you.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but we won’t be able to measure your visit.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, or you can reply “unsubscribe” or email sales@vintageliving.ca.
  • See or correct your information. Ask us what we hold about you and we’ll respond within 30 days, as PIPA requires.
  • Withdraw consent. Tell us to stop using your information and we will, unless we need it to complete a purchase you’ve made or the law requires us to keep it.

How long we keep it, and where

We keep inquiry and newsletter information until you ask us to remove it, or for up to 2 years after our last contact with you. Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires.

Some of our service providers, such as Google and Meta, may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored there may be subject to that country’s laws.

How we protect it

We use secure website connections (HTTPS), limit access to people who need it, and use reputable service providers with their own security safeguards.
